Agricultural Automation in the new Millennium

Agricultural automation is expected to continue in the new millennium. Reasons are given why a number of prototype automation systems developed in the 20th century have not yet proceeded to commercialisation. Some barriers that have deterred this are identified, and it is suggested that research to overcome these barriers will be a focus of future activity. © 2001 Elsevier Science B.V.
